CCL2016 REV1 08/2025
Overview
CompEx is committed to providing safe ways of disclosing information, maintaining high standards of honesty, transparency and accountability and recognises that our external stakeholders have a role in achieving this goal.
We encourage those that have any concerns relating to any aspects of CompEx certification delivery to come forward and voice those concerns.
The purpose of this Policy:
• provide information on how to identify situations that may represent wrongdoing.
• provide information on how to report allegations of wrongdoing.
• give reassurance to those reporting concerns of wrongdoing that they are protected from adverse consequences.
This policy applies to staff working in CompEx ATPs, employers and learners registered or who have completed a qualification with CompEx.
Defining whistleblowing
Whistleblowing is when someone reports suspected wrongdoing and the covering up of wrongdoing. Formally, this is called ‘disclosing the public interest.’
Where learners are working towards a CompEx qualification, they may wish to share their concerns about suspected wrongdoings by people working at the ATP or anyone involved with their course, including other learners.
For confidentiality and safeguarding purposes, learners, ATP staff or affiliates can contact WB@compex-cert.com to report whistleblowing concerns confidentially.
Whistleblowers, ATPs, and ATP staff can find more information within the Malpractice or Maladministration policy and procedure.
Whistleblowing is different from both complaints and employment disputes:
• Complaints usually express personal dissatisfaction (e.g., with a qualification or service) and should be taken forward via our Complaints Policy.
• Employment disputes tend to be where workers disagree about their employment position or contract. If you are experiencing such a dispute, you should take this up with your employer or another responsible body.
Please note that Whistle-blowers are protected under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 – PIDA. More information can be found in the Whistle-blower procedure.
Whistleblowers, ATPs, and ATP staff should review the Whistleblowing procedure for more information on reportable incidents and reporting a concern.
